How do the letters correspond to year levels?
Milestone Learning’s core Mathematics and English programs are mastery-based, so we generally recommend using our placement guides to find the right level for your child.
However, for families who wish to compare our curriculum with state syllabuses or the Australian Curriculum, the following provides a general guide.
Mathematics
- Level A = Foundation Year
- Level B = Year 1
- Level C = Year 2
- …
- Level K = Year 12 (To be released in the future.)
Each level covers the content descriptors for the corresponding year level in the Australian Curriculum.
English
- Level A – Foundation / Year 1
- Level B – Year 1 / Year 2
Children’s progress in the early years of learning to read and write varies enormously. Some children will cover Levels A – C in less than a year and others may take much more than 3 years to cover the same ground. This is perfectly normal and it is much better to follow your child’s needs than to follow some arbitrary schedule.

How long should a lesson take?
In the primary years, lessons should generally take between fifteen and thirty minutes to complete.
For Mathematics, if your child regularly takes longer than thirty minutes to complete a lesson, please see our posts on studying maths efficiently and placing your child in Milestone Maths.
For English, we suggest that you spend only fifteen to twenty minutes per day on the study. Simply set a timer, work through the textbook for ten to fifteen minutes, then switch to the workbook and stop when the timer dings. Pick up where you left off the next day.

Which version of the Australian Curriculum does Milestone Learning follow?

Do you run sales?
At Milestone Learning, we don’t play retail games. We have deliberately chosen not to run sales or offer promotional discount codes so that every family can benefit from the best value curriculum we can produce.
Do you offer sibling discounts?
We price our curriculum to be as fair and sustainable as possible. We do not generally offer discounts for siblings as our workbook curriculum is product-based, not service-based.
We do, however, offer discounted year level bundles for your convenience.
How much will postage / shipping cost?
We offer flat rate shipping of $15 Australia wide. International customers please email us before placing an order for a postage quote.
When will my order be shipped?
To ensure that each order receives due care and attention, we operate on a weekly fulfillment cycle:
- Orders placed by COB on Friday will be placed in the post by the following Monday or Tuesday.
For example, if you place an order on Wednesday 4th of some month, it will be shipped by Tuesday 10th.
We believe that a consistent, rhythmic process ensures the highest level of service.
